Re-certification requirements for IPMA-D
To be eligible for re-certification of IPMA-D, you must demonstrate that over the past five years, you have spent at least: 35 hours per year maintaining your competencies. This requirement is counted from the expiration date of your current certificate.
You can start the re-certification process six months before your certificate expires, and it must be completed no later than six months after the expiration date. You can read more information about signing up here.
When completing the Certification renewal document, use the 'Explanation' document. It provides step-by-step instructions on how to correctly fill out the form.
In the Certification renewal document, you must include activities that demonstrate your project management skills. Examples include:
- Attending training courses
- Speaking at conferences
- Writing articles
- Coaching and assessing
Are you a member of the professional association IPMA-NL? Then your membership counts for 15 hours per full year of membership. We assume that, as an IPMA member, you regularly attend lectures, conferences, and seminars organized by IPMA-NL.
Through your account, invite two referees for an evaluation. Choose individuals who have good insight into your work as a project manager preferably your client from project 1 and your current supervisor.
They will receive a short online questionnaire regarding your performance as a project manager. Additionally, they may be contacted by phone for a short conversation of about 5 to 10 minutes.
After uploading your Certification renewal document and completing the referee assessment, we will forward everything to the assessor. The assessor has four weeks to reach a decision. In case of doubt, they may request additional information from you.
Once the assessment is complete, we will inform you immediately. If the result is positive, you will receive a new certificate valid for five years. Successful candidates will also be included in the international IPMA register, which is updated monthly. .
