Project management is a field where expertise and reliability are essential. To ensure that project professionals not only have the right knowledge but can also apply it effectively, IPMA Certification has evolved over the years into an independent and recognized certification body.
Since January 1, 2015, IPMA Certification has been the official certification body of IPMA Netherlands, marking an important milestone: a fully independent and trustworthy certification, completely separate from trainers and training methods.
Projects are becoming increasingly complex. Teams collaborate digitally and internationally, while the pressure to deliver successful projects is high. Project management is more than just a skill, it is a critical factor that decides whether a project succeeds or fails.
But how can you ensure that, as a project professional, you are ready for these challenges? And how can you demonstrate that you have the right competencies to succeed?
The first IPMA-certified professionals in the Netherlands appeared in 1995. They were not only assessed on their competencies but also formed the first group of assessors. This was a necessary step: to certify new candidates, qualified assessors had to be in place.
Over the years, the certification process has had several administrators. Until 2014, it was outsourced to Cito, an external organization responsible for examinations. Around this time, IPMA Netherlands identified the need to gain more control over the certification processes, increase visibility, and at the same time maintain professional standards.
