PHASES IPMA D

Phase 0: Practice

At the exam, you will receive the Calculation rules so you do not have to learn all the formulas by heart. The formulas are included in the exam. In the Examination requirements, you will find the requirements for the exam.

You can send a request for the necessary document by filling in the form below.

We do not provide exam training. Training and exam take place separately to guarantee trustworthiness and independence. If you are interested in training with the goal of obtaining an IPMA certificate, you will find a summary of project management training centers on the website of IPMA Nederland (in Dutch). Have a look at the pass rate and satisfaction of educators for IPMA PMO, IPMA D, and IPMA C theory (all in Dutch). You can also take a look at the validation (in Dutch) of our former applicants of educators.

Phase 1: Self-assessment

Before the start of the exam, you are required to submit the Self-assessment. The purpose of the Self-assessment is to reflect upon one’s own performance within projects. It is meant to make the fledgling project manager – whose aim is to obtain an IPMA level D certification – conscious of his/her work. The Self-assessment is required per the regulations of IPMA and has to be submitted at least two weeks before the exam takes place. You can fill in the Self Assessment on our portal after signing up.

Phase 2: Theory Exam

The exam consists of two parts, with a total duration of three hours. The first part consists of 45 multiple choice questions and takes about 60 minutes. The second part contains an open questionnaire and takes about 120 minutes. The open questions are divided into mathematical questions, short open questions, and short scenarios. The weighing factor of the multiple-choice questions is 50%, and also 50% for the open questions. Sample papers are available after signing up.

Phase 3: Results + Certificate

We will do our very best to check your exam as soon as possible. After a maximum of 4 weeks, you will receive the result (and if you pass the certificate) by e-mail. The IPMA level D certificate is valid for five years. You will need to renew your certificate after five years if you want to maintain your IPMA level D certification.

The details of the applicants that have acquired their certificates will be sent to IPMA International. During the next quarter, the names will be listed in the international IPMA register.

Received a negative result? You can apply for a resit. These are the costs.
