There are no prerequisites for the IPMA-D-certification. This means anyone may register for the exam. To successfully complete the process, follow these steps:

Completion of the self-assessment is mandatory before taking the theory exam. It is an internationally required tool to help you reflect on your performance in project settings. You will rate yourself on the ICB4 competencies using a scale from 1 to 10. There are no right or wrong answers, and the results are not part of the evaluation.
Exams take place almost every week on Mondays and Wednesdays at our office in IJsselstein. You can choose your preferred exam date through your account. After selecting a date, you will receive an email invitation for the exam. Please ensure that your exam fee is paid before your exam date.
IPMA Certification does not provide training courses. To ensure full reliability and independence, we keep certification separate from training. The professional association IPMA Netherlands offers an overview of training providers that hold the IPMA quality mark.
We do offer a sample test. You can request this practice exam via the 'Request for documents' form at the bottom of this page.
At the exam, you will receive the Calculation rules so you do not have to learn all the formulas by heart. The formulas are included in the exam. In the Examination requirements, you will find the requirements for the exam

- The theory exam consists of multiple-choice and open-ended questions
- Total exam time is three hours
- Part 1: 45 multiple-choice questions – approx. 60 minutes
- Part 2: Open-ended questions – approx. 120 minutes
- This includes calculation questions, open questions, and short scenarios
- A maximum of 90 points can be scored; the passing score is 45 points
- The exam takes place at our IJsselstein location, where free parking is available
- Het tweede deel bevat open vragen met een tijdsindicatie van 120 minuten. De open vragen bestaan uit rekenvragen, korte open vragen en korte scenario’s.
- Je kan in totaal 90 punten halen voor het examen. De cesuur is 45 punten.
You will receive your results within four weeks. IPMA Certification can only release your results once the invoice has been paid.
Passed
You’ll receive your certificate by email.
- With the IPMA-D certificate, you may officially call yourself a Certified Project Management Associate.
- With the IPMA-D-PMO certificate, you may officially call yourself a Certified PMO Associate.
- With the IPMA-D-Agile certificate, you may officially call yourself a Certified Project Management Agile Associate .
The certificate is valid for five years and can be extended for another five years upon providing proof of sufficient experience.
Not pass
If you do not pass, you may retake the exam up to two times. The cost is the same as the standard rate, see our pricing list for details.
