Changes to exams from October 1, 2025

The world of project management is constantly changing. The approach to projects and programs in 2025 will not be the same as it was 5 or 10 years ago. In order to keep pace with developments in project management theory and practice, the content of the exams must also be regularly updated. Last year, all the learning outcomes tested in an exam and all exams were thoroughly reviewed and updated.

What will change for me?
If you are unsure, it is wise to consult your trainer to determine which exam you should register for.

I am currently enrolled in a training course
If you are already enrolled in a training course for the IPMA-D or IPMA-C theory exam, nothing will change for the time being. You can take the old-style theory exam until December 31, 2025. After this date, the exams will only be administered in the new style.

I am not yet enrolled in a program
If you have yet to begin a program, you may take the exam based on the new final attainment levels starting October 1, 2025. You may register for these exams starting at the end of September.

I want to do a self-study course
Roel Riepma and Bert Hedeman have written a new version of the book “Project Management Based on ICB4.” This book provides an excellent foundation for anyone who wants to prepare for the various IPMA exams.
